Hawaii Blog 1.....May of 07,

Nothin like scrapin a bra strap up a sunburned arm

Hello All (well the 3 of you that actualy may read this haha) I can not even believe I am sitting here on a couch blogging in Hawaii! When i was a littlle girl i remember seeing commericals on the TV about disney world. And in my little 5 year old mind it cost something in the range of a million dollars to go there and i remember thinking how far away it was and I would prolly never go there. As sad as that sounds i wasn't really sad about it, it was just something i believed. Since then i grew up and have been to disney approx 5 times.Crazy and no im freaken in Hawaii!. Alright alright. Well since we got her LUCAS DID PICK US UP FROM THE AIRPORT!!!!! We were to damn excited (side note just this very second Lucas' roomate Brian handed me a wheat cracker with some sort of raw fish and a dot of mustard...and I ate it... not as bad i thought it would be haha) alright so from there lucas carried 2 of our bags and Emily and i managed our other bags. We went to a friend of his house and hung out for a little while then we came back to lucas' house where he began drinking. Those of you who know me know im not that big into drinking but they were having fun. The house was a good size and it has to be due to the fact that i believe he has 15 roomates.... alright so there is only like 5 but it seems like so much more. We got to see a giant cockroach as lucas warned us they would randomly be around. He also warned us about the lizards that randomly bounce around everywhere. So far ive only seen one of each and they were both outdoors. (yay!) We suprisingly became aquainted with the time change like it never even happened. I can not say the same for flying back to ny and am not really looking foward to that trip. But anyway Lucas informed us that he would have to do at least 2 14 hour shifts while we were here. And today he left early this morning at like 6:30ish and we will not see him before 5pm tomorrow. So his roomate Brian was nice enough to start to explain where we should go. Equipped with Lucas' & Brians bike, a book about O'ahu, and a sharpie drawn map with only approx 1/2 the amount of street names we would be ready for today while all the boys (accept maybe Kenneth) were at work. So this morning we got up and showered and began cleaning their kitchen. Emily did the dishes and I swept and swiffered all the floors (where I did happen to find 2 more cockroaches both of which were already dead (another yay!)) but this is a house of boys im not 100% positive they have ever swept in here but at least they had the supplies. After all that we decided to leave Kenneth to his interneting and we were off. Emily thought she was going to die on randomly while traveling on our bikes in the street because at first there wasn't any sidewalks. We finally got to the gas station and filled out bike tires with air and continued on our trip. We got ourself to a market where Brian told us we should buy sandwiches. So thats what we did ( and some postcards) From there we totaly found the beach and chained our bikes to a palm tree right next to a dead bird and we were off into the water. It was so beautiful. I have never been on an island before. It was amazing. There really weren't a surplus of people there so everything was spaced out very well. Being used to living in Utica I am concious about being in the water and leaving important things in the ocean. So for the first long while I was watching for sharks and thieves... that was my self appointed job haha. Pictures will totally  be posted asap of the beach and water. The weather was amazing. From there on our way back we totally scouted out all the local hot spots such as TCBY and Jack in the box. So on the way back we stopped for a lovely refreshing cheese cake oreo shiver from TCBY. Then made our way most of the way back the bike chain kept falling off of her bike so we walked the rest of the way. When we got back we immediately (took turns) jumping in the shower where we washed off the 8 lbs of sand i brought back with me and now feel completely refreshed. BUT.... now the sun burn is showing itself quite evidently. which posed quite a problem getting dressed.  So now we are home, sunburned, showered, comfortable. Hawaii is about trying something new so.... We are going to order papa Johns for dinner....haha alright so! thats it for now, im pretty impressed with ourselves venturing out into the island of Hawaii... alright well if there is anything else exciting or eventful that happens I will be sure to post it.... to entertain any of those who wish to read this. Alright Aloha for now! Pictures  soon to come!!
